On behalf of Alabama Baptists, Dr. Lance authorized the sending of Disaster Relief funds to relief efforts in Texas.
In recent disasters, a number of churches and associations have gathered gift cards for distribution to survivors. After hearing from our Texas partners, we believe that gift cards are not the best manner of response at this time.
Financial donations given through the Alabama Baptist State Board of Missions will be forwarded to Southern Baptist Disaster Relief ministries working in Central Texas.

Texas Flooding Relief
Over the Independence Day weekend, sudden and devastating floods struck the Central Texas Hill Country. More than 100 people were killed, including at least 28 children. Sadly, many are still missing.
Your State Board of Missions, on behalf of Alabama Baptists, has sent disaster relief funds directly to relief efforts in the affected areas.
The Yellow Shirt Army stands ready to help when called upon by Disaster Relief leaders in Texas. Every member of the Yellow Shirt Army is a trained witness, so pray that the Gospel will be spread even as practical help is offered to people who are hurting.
If you wish to donate to relief efforts, please know that 100% of the donations will help people whose lives have been affected in areas of need.
None of the donations are used for salaries or other overhead. The Cooperative Program has already provided the ministry infrastructure that makes possible the quick deployment of Disaster Relief volunteers and equipment.
Your gifts will bring help and hope in Jesus’ name.
